UQ master's degree

UQ, 퀸즐랜드 대학은 내가 관심있는 분야에서 구글 스콜라 검색에 가장 먼저 올라온 두 대학 중 하나이기에 찾아보기 시작했다.

다른 대학 몇개 알아보지 않은 상태긴 하지만 다른 곳들보다 매우 깔끔하고 유저 친화적으로 대학원진학 절차가 잘 소개되어있다. 그냥 처음 해보는 사람도 여기 절차에 따라 들어가면 스스로 충분히 (짧은 영어로도) 지원 가능한 것 같다.

가장 먼저 알아본 것은 마감날! 이거 놓치면 다 수포다 ㅠㅠ

2016년 가을학기 지원은 2016-02-05 로 일단 확인.

1.은 각자 선택하시고...

1.에서도 처음엔 헤맸는데 내가 아는 학사, 석사, 박사 (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral) 외에도 학위가 더 존재했기 때문이다. 

Diploma program 이라든지 Graduate certificates 라든지 ....

나는 석사를 원하므로 Master에서 찾고 있다

현재로선 Master 하면 Research 는 별개인지 잘 모르겠으므로 이것도 추후 업뎃해야할 것.

2. 에서 세가지 요건이 나오는데

1) 학위

2) 영어

3) 기타

그 중 영어 점수는 여러가지 충족 가능 항목이 소개되나 나는 IELTS 는 없어서 TOEFL 점수를 확인했다.

총 87점, W 21, L 19, R 19, S 19 로 나는 통과! 

의대나 법대 등 특정학과는 다른 점수 컷이 있고 호주는 아이엘츠를 더 선호하는 것 같다.

(특정 프로그램에선 토플을 받지 않음)

3. 에서는 두가지 Pathway가 예시로 소개됐는데

다양한 백그라운드의 학생들에게 입학에 도움되는 경로를 보여줬다고 생각하면 될듯,

예를 든 두가지는 첫째, 요건이 조금 미달인 학생에게 석사보다는 그보다 문턱이 낮은 Certificates, diploma 를 먼저 하고 나중에 마스터를 하라는 거, 둘째는 영어 요건은 맞췄지만 실력이 부족하다고 생각할 경우 UQ에서 제공하는 영어 수업들을 듣고 시작하라는 거

(역시 대학도 장삿속이다......좋은 마케팅의 예)

4.에서 드디어 가장 중요한 학비에 대한 말이 나온다.

각 프로그램별로 다른데, UQ에서 표가 나온다.

2016년에는 우리나라 돈으로 3천에서 4천5백 사이로 나왔다. (석사 경우)

하필 내가 관심있는 과만 비싼데 아마 재정이 결핍되서 그런듯................아니 대체 왜?!

5. 장학금 및 학비 지원

여러가지가 나와있는데 이건 내가 먼저 지원좀 하고 본 뒤에 생각하련다

6. 온라인 지원서 쓰기

1) 프로그램 정한다

2) 지원 계정 만든다

3) 지원서 쓴다

4) 제출한다

친절한건 맞는데 너무 당연한 것들인듯....

그래도 처음부터 절차를 차근 차근 알려준건 감사

: 네가 선택한 코스웤에서 입학조건, 마감일 확인해라

2) 온라인 지원 사이트 가서 계정만들어라

3) 지원서 다 쓰고 

필요한 서류 다 첨부하고

(중간에 저장할 수 있습니다 ^^)

위에 말한 영어 Pathway는 여기서 같이 지원 가능 (패키지 상품 같음)

4) 지원서 제출!!!!!

그냥 랜덤하게 고른 건데 표현이 어렵지 않고 쉽게 따라 쓸 수 있는 것 같다. 그렇다고 내용이 좋다고 생각하진 않는다. 포맷일 뿐이고 실제 구직자가 매력을 뿜어내기 위해서는 그만의 스토리가 필요한 건 알긴 하지만. 그래도 '평이하다'는 정도 같다.
